Simon Mol (Simon Moleke Njie), a Cameroonian writer and journalist freelancing with the Voice, was granted the Antifascist of the Year 2003 award by the Nigdy Więcej (Never Again) social association, which monitors and combats trends such as neofascism, racism and xenophobia.
The 31-year-old Cameroonian is a political refugee; he arrived in Poland five years ago. He has been beaten by Warsaw skinheads twice since. Last year he organized the Football Against Racism campaign designed to uproot racism and aggression aimed at foreigners during soccer games in Polish stadiums. He is the co-founder and secretary of the Association of Refugees in the Republic of Poland. He writes and publishes fiction and poetry and is a regular contributor to the Voice.
